On September 1, 1978, Phil Fortino purchased a 25 year old Hollister landmark known as Royal TV and Appliance. Phil changed the name to Fortino's Royal TV & Appliance and added a crown to the name. The crown signaled Phil's intention to be a leader in customer service and marked the beginning of what is now more than a quarter century of sales and service excellence. With the addtion of furniture the name was updated one final time to reflect the total home solution that Fortino's has become.
